For Experienced Riders
If you already own a 250cc dirt bike or regularly ride off-road motorcycles in your home country or overseas, this adventure is designed specifically for you. First introduced and extensively tested in early 2010, this route has become our most popular Vietnam dirt bike tour, enjoyed by both our customers and our own riding team. More than a conventional motorcycle tour, it is a true motorcycle expedition that takes riders far beyond the limits of standard, off-the-shelf touring itineraries.
This is dirt biking in Vietnam at its absolute finest, created for experienced riders who want to challenge themselves on some of the country’s most remote and spectacular terrain. Expect demanding trails, unforgettable scenery, and a genuine sense of adventure that few tours can match.
Here are a few impressive highlights:
- Approximately 1,500 kilometres of unforgettable riding.
- Multiple river crossings and bamboo-supported bridge crossings.
- Elevation changes ranging from 90 to 2,000 metres (297-6,600 feet) above sea level.
- Challenging single-track trails, rugged mountain tracks, and peaceful back roads running close to the Lao and Chinese borders.
A journey of this scale typically requires 6 to 16 days, depending on your schedule and preferred riding pace. Along the way, you’ll discover a lesser-known Vietnam, far removed from the usual tourist routes. Some of the finest off-road riding destinations include Ta Xua, Ngoc Chien, the spectacular roof roads to Sapa, the wild Northeast, and the breathtaking Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark in Ha Giang.
If your time is more limited, you can still enjoy an outstanding Vietnam motorcycle adventure by exploring Mai Chau, Pu Luong, or Phu Yen. These shorter routes offer an excellent combination of scenic mountain roads, enjoyable off-road sections, authentic ethnic villages, and stunning natural landscapes, making them ideal alternatives without sacrificing the thrill of adventure riding in Vietnam.
Experienced Rider – Skill Requirements
This advanced dirt bike tour is designed for riders with good to excellent off-road riding skills who are looking for some of the most exciting and demanding dirt bike trails in Southeast Asia. Expect challenging terrain, remote mountain tracks, river crossings, and technical single-track sections that require confidence, experience, and solid bike control. If you’re searching for a genuine Vietnam dirt bike adventure, this expedition delivers an unforgettable riding experience well beyond ordinary motorcycle tours.
Because you will spend many hours riding together each day, it is important that you enjoy travelling with others, communicate well, and work as part of a team. A positive attitude, patience, and respect for fellow riders help create a safer and more enjoyable journey for everyone. Safety is always our highest priority, so we encourage every participant to ride smart, ride within their limits, and look out for the group throughout the adventure.
If you have any medical conditions, ongoing health concerns, or require regular medical assistance, we strongly recommend choosing a different tour. These remote routes pass through isolated mountain regions where medical facilities, pharmacies, and major hospitals are often many hours away. While our team is experienced in handling unexpected situations, emergency support can be limited due to the rugged terrain and distance from larger towns.
The reward, however, is an extraordinary off-road motorcycle adventure through some of Vietnam’s most untouched landscapes. You’ll experience spectacular mountain scenery, authentic ethnic villages, and challenging trails that few travellers ever have the opportunity to explore. For experienced riders, it is a journey that offers far more excitement, satisfaction, and unforgettable memories than a typical motorbike holiday.
